Styro-Tech Helps Carter's To Maintain Freezing Temperatures! Case Study Overview: The Refrigeration Division of Carter Retail Equipment Ltd, needed a special lightweight insulation material to fit inside their aluminium extrusion sections, which go to make up their industrial cold store refrigeration units. They also needed it to be a specific, tight tolerance, profile insulation system, whilst still being able to slide in to the profile section quickly and easily on their production line. The Styro-Tech Solution: It took 7 attempts, as the profile had to be just right, along with the correct material weight, density and having the exact insulation value, however, Styro-Tech's design engineers developed the ideal solution, and within the desired budget. (As a side point, polystyrene will go down to the most extreme of temperatures and it will rarely break down. It is only heat where it can cause a problem.) The Outcome: Styro-Tech's specialist profile polystyrene solution was successfully approved and now runs on a monthly basis.
