Strawberries on Stilts

Styro-tech teamed up with pioneering strawberry producer, Robert Ward, at his Lubstree Park Farm, near Telford Shropshire, to help develop his polytunnels innovative growing technique, growing strawberries on stands and stilts, to ensure that shoppers can enjoy home-grown strawberries and raspberries all year long.

Styro-Tech engineers helped to develop a specially shaped polystyrene former which acted as an excellent insulation, providing thermal protection for the strawberry plants, as well as allowing the fruit to be harvested quicker and easier than more traditional growing methods.
